Hoodie inspired by the tiny yet amazing Bugatti Brescia Type 13
For some younger enthusiasts Bugatti may be no more than a VW’s luxury brand who made the ultimate hyper-car. But has impressive as the Veyron may be, it is not as ahead of its day as its early ancestors.
The Bugatti Brescia Type 13, represented on this hoodie, was 1910 car with a four cylinder 16 valve engine producing 30 bhp from just 1.4 liters. That may not sound as impressive as the 1001bhp of the Veyron until you figure out that the tiny Brescia weighed just 300kgs.
With a two meter wheelbase and leaf springs all-round it was more agile than powerful. Yet Ettore had so much faith in his car that he entered five examples in the 1911 French Grand Prix. Although looking as an alien in the grid, the Brescia went out to set a second place. This was a legendary achievement for a car that was easily regarded as an underdog.
